The Chakras and Yoga

Join Maureen for a journey through the chakra system. You will be lead through an all levels yoga class focused on balancing the energy systems of your body. Chakras are the concentrated energy centers of the body. Chakra is a Sanskrit term and it means “wheel” or “disk”. Chakras are spinning wheels of energy/light. They have the responsibility of taking in, incorporating and emanating energy to keep us functioning at optimal levels.

Yoga & Acupuncture Through the Seasons
 
Did you know that there are special acupuncture points that bring you into harmony with each season? They are most healing during the Solstices and Equinoxes of the year. In this special series of seasonal workshops you will experience an integrated yoga practice that focuses on asanas, pranayama, and guided meditation that integrate the opening and connection to the seasonal energetics within you. Healing acupuncture will be gently applied during savasana to bring you into deeper state of relaxation and peace. This comfortable and accessible experience is designed to nourish your body, heart, and mind so you feel balanced and grounded with the changing seasons. Each seasonal workshop is approximately 90 minutes at 4:00 pm on the following Sundays at Truly Yoga.

Deepen your heart openers with a breakdown of asana, individualized attention, and guided meditation to open your heart chakra. Rooted in the Taoist tradition, yin yoga helps regulate the body's flow of energy by focusing on the breath and holding poses longer. Poses are held for 1 to 5 minutes by using props, making the practice accessible to people of all abilities. However, Yin yoga complements more vigorous activities such as flow yoga, running and cycling because connective tissue responds best to a slow, steady load, making the body a bit longer and stronger. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints, improve flexibility, and release myofascial tension as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. Yin classes are held at room temperature, never hot or cold!

Rooted in the Taoist tradition, yin yoga helps regulate the body's flow of energy by focusing on the breath and holding poses longer. Poses are held for 1 to 5 minutes by using props, making the practice accessible to people of all abilities. However, Yin yoga complements more vigorous activities such as flow yoga, running and cycling because connective tissue responds best to a slow, steady load, making the body a bit longer and stronger. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints, improve flexibility, and release myofascial tension as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. Yin classes are held at room temperature, never hot or cold!

Rooted in the Taoist tradition, yin yoga helps regulate the body's flow of energy by focusing on the breath and holding poses longer. Poses are held for 1 to 5 minutes by using props, making the practice accessible to people of all abilities. However, Yin yoga complements more vigorous activities such as flow yoga, running and cycling because connective tissue responds best to a slow, steady load, making the body a bit longer and stronger. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints, improve flexibility, and release myofascial tension as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. Yin classes are held at room temperature, never hot or cold!

Rooted in the Taoist tradition, yin yoga helps regulate the body's flow of energy by focusing on the breath and holding poses longer. Poses are held for 1 to 5 minutes by using props, making the practice accessible to people of all abilities. However, Yin yoga complements more vigorous activities such as flow yoga, running and cycling because connective tissue responds best to a slow, steady load, making the body a bit longer and stronger. The aim is to increase circulation in the joints, improve flexibility, and release myofascial tension as the poses stretch and exercise the bone and joint areas. Yin classes are held at room temperature, never hot or cold!

Join us to move through a slow Vinyasa Flow then neutralize your rajas (agitation) and tamas (inertia), to allow yourself to move into a more pure state of consciousness with Mantra Meditation. We will calm the mind, bring focus and control our breath. Come prepared to recite mantras out loud and silently.
This workshop will include a slow flow vinyasa for all levels, followed by 15 minutes of mantra meditation.

This class addresses strength, flexibility, and coordination to have you fit for the adventure of life.
All are welcome, but Moved by Nature is best suited to students with an intermediate to advanced yoga and/or exercise practice.

Primary Focus: Alignment, safe transitions, and posture modifications/ variations to suit your body.
